Favorite 2017 Covers

Before I get into my favorite reads of 2017, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite book covers of 2017! Now, EVERYONE loves to judge book covers, it’s a fact. Book covers can tell you so much about a story, or nothing at all. They are just a great visual media, so let’s celebrate some of the awesome 2017 book covers!

These are in no particular order at all, I just looked through my Goodreads shelves and made a list.

Renegades (Renegades, #1)NoteworthyA Short History of the Girl Next DoorDaughter of the Burning City

Renegades  by Marissa Meyer

I love the dark tones, the division and tension you can see between the characters, and the pops of red.

Noteworthy by Riley Redgate

This is so bright and fun, and I love the musical notes blended with the gender symbols.

A Short History of the Girl Next Door by Jared Reck

Another bright cover with pops of color. i love the simplicity of the window panes and the singular pink one.

Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody

This cover is so moody and completely matched the book. I Love the hazy view of the city and the ethereal menacing quality it has.

Little & LionEliza and Her MonstersHere We Are NowStarfish

Little & Lion by Brandy Colbert

I love the black background with the brighter colors. And the doodle-style drawings are great.

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia

I love the artistry in this cover – the paint on her hands, holding the little drawings. it’s just really cute.

Here We Are Now by Jasmine Warga

I love the pink and blue tones, and how the title is sheer so you can see the fantastic doodles behind it.

Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman

The starfish is beautiful (as is the turle). I love the rich colors and the twinkling star-like nebula background.

ReleaseThe Goblins of BellwaterAn Enchantment of RavensThey Both Die at the End

Release by Patrick Ness

This cover is kinda off balance, just like the story. And I’m in love with the muted grey color palette.

The Goblins of Bellwater by Molly Ringle

The clockface backgound and the dark floral-woodys elements of the bouquet are so gorgeous and colorful.

An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson

This looks like a painting – and it fits perfectly with the story. Also, it reminds me of fall aka the best time of year.

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

The skull in the sky, the grim reaper shadows, the nostalgia of a moonlit walk. This might be my favorite cover of the year.

The Gallery of Unfinished GirlsIf Birds Fly BackTop TenCaraval (Caraval, #1)

The Gallery of Unfinished Girls by Lauren Karcz

All the flamingos! And I love the palm leaf border around the title. It just screams summer.

If Birds Fly Back by Carlie Sorosiak

I love the way the title is written in the constellation.

Top Ten by Katie Cotugno

This is like an instagram-polaroid style cover and I love it. I think it coveys a dynamic between the two characters really well.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

I love the compass rose design and the whimsy font of CARAVAL.

The Ship Beyond Time (The Girl From Everywhere, #2)When Dimple Met RishiStrange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1)The Hate U Give

The Ship Beyond Time by Heidi Heilig

The water fish-hook pops and I love the boat floating in the middle of the chaos.

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

Not the biggest fan of models on book covers, but candid photo-style is by far my favorite. And this is just too adorable for words.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

The blue and the gold and the moths.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

I love that the title is on a protest board- It perfection.

Ramona BlueA Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic, #3)Midnight at the ElectricBeasts Made of Night

Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy

There’s something so calming about this covers. Kinda serene.

A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab

I love the pops of red, the throne is meancing, and the triangles of maps are great and tie in the other book covers.

Midnight at the Electric by Jodi Lynn Anderson

So glowy and eerie. And I really love the use of all lowercase font.

Beasts Made of Night by Tochi Onyebunchi

It’s like one of those cool ink-blot things. Or those snowflakes you make in elementary school from folded paper.

Fragile ChaosTash Hearts TolstoyA Line in the Dark

Fragile Chaos by Amber Duell

STUNNING. The gold-leaf style puzzle pieces glowing on her skin. So pretty.

Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Katheryn Ormsbee

This is so quirky and just weirdly adorable.

A Line in the Dark by Malinda Lo

This is so creepy and perfect? The ink is like veins and dripping like blood – spooky.
