T10T | Backlist Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature formerly hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl

I honestly have approximately 10,000 backlist books that I want to read so I will have a part 2 to this post go up on Thursday because I don’t want to make an obscenely long post today. While I do love getting super hyped for new releases, there are so many books that I feel like I missed out on. So here are 10 backlist books that I want to get to soon.

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

Ruin and Rising (Grisha Verse, #3)

After taking years to start the Grisha Trilogy, I have fallen head over heels and I can’t wait to read this conclusion.

The Bear and and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden

The Bear and the Nightingale (Winternight Trilogy, #1)

This book honestly just seems like a perfect winter read for me. I love Russian-inspired fantasy stories and atmospheric writing.

The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedotti

The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett

This book earned a place on my list because I really loved Sedotti’s As You Wish and I want to read her debut novel.

Night Film by Marisha Pessl

Night Film

I’m constently looking to read more adult books, and after enjoying Pessl’s Neverworld Wake – and hearing rave reviews – I think this is definitely one I need to check out.

Vicious by V.E. Schwab

Vicious (Villains, #1)

I have enjoyed every other V.E. Schwab book I’ve read so I definitely need to get to this beloved book – especially now that the sequel is out.

The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson

The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive, #1)

There are a few fantasy series or authors that you repeatedly hear about after entering the booksih community and Branon Sanderson is one of thoe authors. I’ve hear so much about his Mistborn series and The Stormlight Archives – I really could have flipped a coin for which series to start, but I recently bought The Way of Kings so that series wins out.

The Name of the Wind by Pathrick Rothfuss

The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1)

The Name of the Wind is another book that I can’t escape in the book community and I know I need to read it.

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

I'll Give You the Sun

I’m going to be honest, I started this book once and almost immediately DNF’d it. I didn’t have much experience with atmospheric or flowery writing – but I think I’ll really appreciate it now. And sibling stories are my weakness, which is why I picked this up in the first place.

Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken

Wayfarer (Passenger, #2)

I really don’t know why I’ve put this book off so long. I loved the timetravel rules in Passenger and Nicholas is my fave. Plus, the first book ended on a satisfying cliffhanger and I want to know what happens next.

The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell

The Last Magician (The Last Magician, #1)

I’ve heard very good things from people who’s opinions I usually agree with so I’m excited to get to this, plus I know book 2 just came out too! And I know this is on my more immediate TBR because I got this from the library.

Have you read any of these books? Which should I read first? Share below!

And don’t forget to come back Thursday to see more backlist books I desperately want to get to.

You’ve got some huge books on this list! I can’t wait to check out part 2 and see what else made the cut! I also have Bear and the Nightingale on my list and really hope to get that done before the end of ’18. I told myself I’ve been saving it as a “Winter read” and let’s hope that’s accurate! Lol!

I did an acrostic for “my backlist” to narrow down my selections! Feel free to check it out here: http://bit.ly/2D6yrjL
