T10T | Auto Buy Authors

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature formerly hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl

I think of this topic less as auto buy authors and more as a list of authors that I automatically have an interest in their upcoming works. Some of these are authors I’ve loved for years, and others are more recent favorites but they all consistently put out books I’m interested in.

Sarah J. Maas

The Assassin's Blade (Thron...A Court of Thorns and Roses...House of Earth and Blood

Favorite series/Book: Queen of Shadows

I love the worldbuilding and detail that Sarah weaves through her stories. The magic, politics, and personal relationships all create this fantastically real world.

Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian (Lux, #1)Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)White Hot KissThe ReturnThe Darkest StarStorm and Fury

Favorite series/Book: Covenant series

Jennifer L. Armentrout is a go-to comfort author for me. Probably because urban and paramoral fantasty is one of my biggest slump-busting genres. But I just love the humor her characters have.

Taylor Jenkins Reid

Daisy Jones & The SixMaybe in Another LifeOne True LovesAfter I Do

Favorite series/Book: Daisy Jones and the Six

It’s just so easy to fall into Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books. Her characters are so human and real with depth and flaws that you can relate to or empathize with.

Renée Ahdieh

The Wrath and the DawnFlame in the MistThe Beautiful

Favorite series/Book: ?

This is a weird one for me because I’ve only read 1 full book from Renée so far (Flame in the Mist), but her beautiful and stylized writing hooked me immediately and I consistently look forward to work from her. Because I’ve loved all the short stories I’ve read from he.

Leigh Bardugo

Shadow and BoneSix of CrowsKing of ScarsNinth House

Favorite series/Book: Shadow and Bone trilogy

Leigh crafts morally complex casts so well. I love the found family dynamics she uses in her stories and the world is incredibly rich.

Anna-Marie McLemore

When the Moon Was OursThe Weight of FeathersWild BeautyBlanca & Roja

Favorite series/Book: Wild Beauty

Anna-Marie McLemore has some of the most beutifully lyrical writing I’ve ever encountered. There’s such a depth of emotion infused into ever syllable that moves you deeply.

Neal Shusterman

UnwindScytheChallenger DeepDry

Favorite series/Book: Arc of a Scythe series

Neal Shusterman creates such terrifyingly possible dystopian stories that are horrifying. He creates such philosphical stories that really delve into humanity and morality.

Sandhya Menon

When Dimple Met RishiFrom Twinkle, with LoveThere's Something About Swe...

Favorite series/Book: There’s Something About Sweetie

I have the best time reading Sandhya Menon’s books. They feel like such slice of life books with real teens – and I tend to love her romances.

Morgan Matson

Since You've Been GoneThe Unexpected EverythingSecond Chance SummerAmy & Roger's Epic DetourSave the Date

Favorite series/Book: Save the Date

Morgan Matson’s books are the penical of fluffy, feel-goodness. They take you out of your mind and let you get lost in a fun story.

Similar to you, I’ve only read 1 of Renne’s books (Wrath & The Dawn), but I’m always keeping up to date with her newest books, because I really love her writing too! & Anna-Marie’s books are definitely an auto-buy for me!😍📚

I love how you thought about the topic. SJM is for sure any auto-buy author for me, and I will now always read anything by Morgan Matson and Sandhya Menon. For me, Jenn Bennett and Rainbow Rowell are the same too!
