“I expect you to give her your support when she’s earned it and your criticism when she deserves it. That’s what siblings are for, after all.”
I’m been in the mood for super dramatic and ridiculous reads lately, so this was a perfect choice. American Royals is an alternate history where the United States established a monarchy following George Washington and this story follows the Washington siblings: Beatrice in line to be the first reigning Queen, and twins Samantha, a wild child who feels forgottens as the Spare, and Jefferson, who is torn between an old flame or a comoner who truly makes him happy. Sam was probably my least favorite, but she still had some great moments.
This story is incredibly romance focused, so if that’s not what you’re looking for, then I’d steer clear, but I actually loved all the romances in the story. And the family moments gave this some major heart (yeah, I teared up near the end, but family stuff just gets to me.) This story was dramatic and ridiculous in the best possible ways and I just had a truly great time reading the story. It’s a story that will definitely keep you entertained.
