Here’s a little wrap up for the last few books I read in 2019 – I hope you enjoy!

Still a good story, but not as fun/engaging as book 1 for me. I really liked having Gray as a POV because he was quite the scene stealer in book 1, and I loved getting to see more from him. Lia Mara was a bit of a frustrating charcter. I liked her compassion, bravery, and smarts – but she honestly had everyone around her look kinda stupid with how quickly she put things together. It just brought the story down a little bit. It was also hard to justify Rhen’s direction and actions in this story. We do get some answers at the end of the book, but a lot is still left unclear. But one think I did truly love was Gray’s relationship with Tycho – it was so pure and wonderful.
So this wasn’t quite the standout that book one was for me, but I did have a fun time reading it.
I received copy of the book from the publisher in exchange fr an honest review.

What a fun and festive story that you can read again and again. I have a feeling that relistening to this will be a holiday tradition – maybe while baking. It’s a great retelling of A Christmas Carol with a modern (and dramatic) twist. I liked Holly’s growth and it was just a great book to close the year with.

Super fun, super cute, and exactly what I needed after finishing such a depressing book earlier in the week. This was a breath of fresh air because I knew exactly what I was going to get and I just had the best time being along for the ride. Mia and Jake are an adorable childhood friends to enemies to lovers trope come to life on the page and I couldn’t be happier. Even with the ending being a little rushed (which was probably my biggest complaint) I still just had so much fun reading this and it lifted my spirits to go into my next book!
