This is the last post in my 2020 goals series. And today we’re focusing on series that I either want to start or catch up on this year. Like before, I wanted to keep this list managable, so I only included 3 in each category.
Series I Want to Catch Up On
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare | I’m going to be completely honest with you. I’m not expecting to love this book – I think it will probably be a 3 star – enjoyable, but forgettable read. But I really want to finish the series because I read the entire Mortal Instruments series last year for the first time (I had read book 1 previously, but that was years ago) and I read the first 2 books in the Dark Artifices series so I feel like I’ve put in so much that I might as well finish the series.
Five Dark Fates by Kendare Blake | This is another series conclusion that I need to catch up on. Every time I pick up a book in the Three Dark Crowns series, I’m surprised over and over again how much I enjoy it. The books captivate me and I love the worldbuilding, so I can’t wait to see how this one turns out.
Steeltide by Natalie C. Parker | This is one of those books, that it might not have been my favorite when I read it, but I can’t stop thinking about it. The characters and worldbuilding were so great and I feel like I need to know what happens next.
Series I Want to Start
The Wrath & the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh | This title probably looks familiar to you because it’s been in all of my 2020 goals posts, but that just means I’m determined to read it this year.
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff | A well loved series that I’ve wanted to read for years and just haven’t yet. But I’m always here for assassins, so….
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katharine Arden | I feel like wintery Russian-insprired fantasy stories are something I’m always gonna want to reach for, so the fact that I haven’t picked up this series yet is tragic.
What are some series that you want to start and/or get caught up on this year? Have you read any of these ones yet? Should I prioritize any book? Let me know in the comments down below!
I want to get into Nevernight as well! Especially after seeing Piera Forde’s adaption

I’m behind on the Three Dark Crowns series too! I really enjoyed the first two books so I need to hurry up and get a copy of the next book soon 🙂
