The Lunar Chronicles Book Tag | Book Tag

Another Sunday, another book tag.

I’m doing some rereads of my favorites older series, so I thought a throwback tag would be appropriate and fun. Huge shoutout to Brittany over at @BookAddictsGuide for creating the tag, so make sure you go check them out. (I modified Winter’s prompt a timy bit, so make sure you check out the OG on Brittany’s page.)

CINDER | The cyborg
a book that’s often misunderstood or underappreciated

We Used to Be Friends by Amy Spalding

We Used To Be Friends

I feel like I haven’t seen a single person besides me talking about this book and I loved it when I read it a few months ago.

KAI | The prince
a book about royals/royalty

American Royals by Katherine McGee

American Royals (American Royals, #1)

This is a fun, kinda corny alt-timeline/What-if story about American Royalty established post-Revolutionary war

ADRI | The evil stepmother
a book with a horrible/cringe-worthy parent

Starfish by Alkemi Dawn Bowman

Kiko’s mom is the absolute worst and I wish her nothing but bad things.

IKO | The spunky sidekick
a book with your favorite happy-go-lucky character

Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Red, White & Royal Blue

Really the whole crew is very happy-go-lucky to me. They care about stuff, but never lets it weight them down for too long.

SCARLET | The rescuer
a book with a character on a mission

Breath Like Water by Anna Jarzab

Breath Like Water

Not your typical mission, but Susannah Ramos is on a mission to become an Olympic swimmer and reach her former (and better) times again.

WOLF | The fighter
a book with a brutal fight (with words or fists)

Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi

Children of Virtue and Vengeance (Legacy of Orïsha, #2)

Even thought I didn’t enjoy this second installement as much as book 1, the action is intense and abundant.

LEVANA | The villain
a book with the absolute worst villan

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass, #4)

I know there are worse villains out there, but Arrobyn just jumped into my head and the guy is a huge fucking creep so it works.

THRONE | The rascal
a book with the biggest schmoozer

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bargugo

Siege and Storm (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, #2)

Nikolai was the first person who came to mind when I thought of a schmoozer. He’s too suave for his own good.

CRESS | The hacker
a book about technology, or sci-fi

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)

You can’t say technology or sci fi and expect me to think of a different book.

WINTER | The unsound mind
a book about mental health

You Asked For Perfect by Laura Silverman

You Asked for Perfect

This book has a lot of great discussions about stress and anxiety, which I think we can all relate to right now.

JACIN | The soldier
a book with a military theme

Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle, #1)

A ragtag group fighting an unknown alien virus zombie strain and running from their military-esque  former school, yes please.

What a fun tag! I still need to read Red White & Royal Blue–I tuned into a virtual interview with MacLib and Casey McQuiston and she seems very down-to-earth and cool. A middle schooler recommended “Breath like water” to me and my colleague when we did a “virtual school library” visit, so I hope to pick that one up in the near future too!
