More mini reviews from books I’ve enjoyed to varying degrees over the last few weeks.

You Had Me at Hola by Alexis Daria

You Had Me at Hola

Rating: ★★★★☆
Release Date: August 4, 2020

I think the best way I can describe this story is: addictive. I just didn’t want to stop listening sn fI had to know what was happening next. Ashton and Jasmine have incredible chemistry and I loved seeing their genuine relationship develop throughout the story. The heavy focus of family and it’s respective importance to the two leads was a welcomed surprise and the telenovela scenes incorporated into the story was perfect. You Had Me at Hola is filled with glamour, charm, and heart and I loved every second of it!

Say You Remember Me by K.A. Tucker

Say You Still Love Me

Rating:★★★★☆
Release Date: August 6, 2019

A great second chance romance. I was a little more invested in the current (“now”) timeline of the story, but seeing the innocent beginnings at summer camp was cute! I really like Piper as a character, and thought her chemistry with Kyle was great too. Overall, just a fun story.

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

All the Bright Places

Rating: ★★★★☆
Release Date: January 6, 2015

I know this is a very decisive book, but it packed a great emotional punch so I was obviously invested. It’s heartbreaking and joyous – a perfect blend on a bittersweet journey.

A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey

A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow

Rating: ★★★★☆
Release Date: November 10, 2020

The amount of family and heart in this story brought me pure joy – and the amazing food descriptions brought me jealousy. I loved Lila’s story from the very beginning, but the last quarter or so completely stole my heart. This is a beautiful story of family and healing that wraps you up in a cozy cardigan and fills your heart with warmth. A perfect feel-good story about embracing your future.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
