The Game of Love and Death by Martha Brockenbrough
Rating: ★★★★★

The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan
Rating: ★★★☆☆
Release Date: April 7, 2015
This was a fun story with a lot of drama and hijinks, but there was so much going on that it kept me entertained from beginning to end. Bex and Nick are cute, and their relationship was fine, but nothing too special. But I did like the story focus on family in the story – not just lineage and pedigree, but both Bex and Nick’s relationship’s with their siblings and Nick’s complicated relationship with his mother. It gave a little something extra to a simple romance story.
The Year We Hid Away by Sarina Bowen
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3.5 Stars)
Release Date: June 16, 2016
For a new adult romance, this story was surprisingly heavy. There’s a lot of family issues and baggage that both Scarlet and Bridger have to deal with, but I did appreciate that there was minimal communication issues between them. The romance was okay, nothing special but there was definitely nice moments, and I loved that this was just such a quick read. Sarina just writes these series and I can’t put the books down.
Trigger warning for: death of a parent, mentions of drug use and child molestation, death by suicide, and physical and verbal abuse from a parent/authority figure.
So a bit more on the disappointing side,, but nothing too bad..
