More mini reviews from books I’ve enjoyed to varying degrees over the last few weeks.

You Have a Match by Emma Lord

You Have a Match

Rating: ★★★★☆
Release Date: January 12, 2021

Sister stories FTW. This was such a delight to read, Emma Lord has cemented herself as a go-to contemporary author for me. Lord continues to craft witty dialogue and clever relationships that feel so real, you can’t help but fall in love with the characters. Abby and Savvy’s unexpected relationship was a joy to follow – the whole complicated mess is a bunch of ups and downs that keep you turning the pages. And I really loved the camp setting – it screamed summer and made me miss the outdoors (#QuarantineLive). If you’re looking for a book to give you some major Parent Trap vibes – and let’s be real, who isn’t – then look no further.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

Home Before Dark

Rating:★★★★☆
Release Date: October 15, 2019

This was a super fun read. I love that it kept me guessing – about if the paranormal stuff was real or not and about what the fuck was actually going on. I thought the dual perspectives paralleled perfectly and kept the pacing up and engaging switching between the two, and was never repetitive for me. The ending was a tad bit rushed for my taste, but I still really liked the story. I can’t wait to read more from Riley Sager in the future!

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout

From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash, #1)

Rating: ★★★★☆
Release Date: March 30, 2020

This was such an addicting and fun read, I literally could not put it down all day. The world is fun, the characters are charming, and the romance was on point. I just loved everything about this and it was so nice to read a paranormal romance again.

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire (Blood and Ash, #2)

Rating: ★★★★★
Release Date: September 1, 2020

April cannot be here fast enough. This was amazing and I don’t know what to do with myself. Everything just expanded and got bigger in the best ways – and the cliffhanger is so incredibly cruel and perfect. I just love this series a whole bunch – it’s so fun.
