This was like reading a really fun, cliché, cheesy teen movie and I had a blast. This was such a comforting book to read, because you go in with certain expectations and all of them are met and played out in the ways that you expect. A great read if your in the mood for a ya romance.

I don’t know what I can say about this other than I absolutely loved going on this journey with Maverick. If you’re looking for a character driven book, I think there’s no way you could be disappointed. I loved seeing him struggle with his expectations and desires, his hopes for the future vs his stifling reality. And I loved his family so much – there was so much warmth and love, even in the difficult and hard times. It was just fantastic – and I loved the small glimpses or mentions to familiar characters- they always made me smile.

This is a solid rivals to lovers romance with a lean into workplace romance too because while they work at rival apps, they are down the hall from another. There’s a lot of charm in the story and Hudson oozes confidence, but does have depth and emotional vulnerability. Annika is a focused and dedicated heroine and I loved seeing her passion and love of love come into her app design. I also loved the family moments we got to see with her father.

This was kinda cute but mostly forgettable. Lizzie is one of the most flighty characters I’ve ever encountered, and while that didn’t endear her to me at all, it certainly matched the stream of conscience style writing that made me fly through this book.
