The Meeting Point by Olivia Lara

Meh. This somehow managed to drag and feel rushed at the same time.

I felt like the relationship development was weak – because even thought the love interest isn’t revealed on page until later in the story, we know who it is as soon as the character is introduced and I honestly didn’t feel any chemistry between the couple. But as soon as we find out the identity on page they are together and overcome their hurdles. It just didn’t really work for me.

The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix

Grady Hendrix has some amazing concepts, but I haven’t liked one of his books yet.

While I loved all the meta references to some of my favorite slasher flicks, I didn’t love Lynett (or really any of the characters) and was bored for most of the book. And while I’m not one to make predications or guess reveals in books, sometimes I will if I’m really engaged with the book or if something is particularly obvious, but I didn’t even bother here because I didn’t actually care who did it. If you’re a fan of slasher, I think this will be a fun read but it didn’t do much else for me besides that.

These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan

Rating: ★★★☆☆

I always love a good Seelie vs Unseelie fae story so I was predisposed to have a good time with this. And the two fae courts immediately yield themselves to love triangles, and while I thought they both were a bit underdeveloped they were good. Overall a nice ya fantasy story about fae and magic.

I’m calling it. Unfortunately I was mostly just bored while listening to this and only made it this far bc I had nothing else to do. It’s not a bad story, I just felt nothing when reading and I want to read books that make me happy so I’m putting this down.
