More mini reviews from books I’ve enjoyed to varying degrees over the last few weeks.

His Royal Highness by R.S. Grey

His Royal Highness

Rating: ★★★☆☆
Release Date: November 14, 2019

The fairytale park setting was adorable but I wasn’t the biggest fan of Whitney. She was frustrating and immature, though it was nice seeing her and Derek actually get to know each other. I also thought that the resolution between Whitney and her parents was rushed.

The Love Con by Seressia Glass

The Love Con

Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3.5 Stars)
Release Date: December 15, 2021

I really liked getting to see characters be passionate about something I know nothing about, so Kenya’s drive, charm, and dedication made this a really enjoyable read. And her fake relationship (that quickly spurs some real feelings) with her best friend, Cam was beyond adorable. The mutual love and pining was everything I wanted.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Twisted Love by Ana Huang

Twisted Love (Twisted, #1)

Rating: ★★★☆☆
Release Date: April 29, 2021

I’m almost guaranteed to pick up a Brother’s Best Friend trope because i love them so much, but I do feel like the trope wasn’t as well utilized as it could have been (where was all the angst and sneaking around) because the brother was not really in the story so his relationship with both Alex and Ava wasn’t really involved. But I can say Ava and Alex do have pretty immediate chemistry (though they do lack in development) this was a solid read and I’m looking forward to continuing with the series.

Twisted Games by Ana Huang

Twisted Games (Twisted, #2)

Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3.5 Stars)
Release Date: July 29, 2021

Another quickly and fun read in this series. I have a soft spot for Royal romances- they always bring the drama, which I love and Twisted Games did not disappoint. Bridget and Rhys have tons of chemistry and their relationship develops over a long period of time – though we don’t really get to see the development. This was a fun series and I’m planning on continuing.
