More mini reviews from books I’ve enjoyed to varying degrees over the last few weeks.

I’m so bored and I don’t care about anything and I can’t keep the side characters straight. I still the the setting is the most interesting part of this world (and the magic system has no rules – or at least I can’t keep them straight) but this just didn’t work for me.
Meet Me in the Margins by Melissa Ferguson
Rating: ★★★☆☆
Release Date: February 15, 2022
This was a cute little quick read. Romances set in the book world are always fun and I loved the vibes of the small press. And the romance was adorably cute.
Corrupt by Penelope Douglas
Rating: ★★★★☆
Release Date: November 17, 2015
This was intense, addictive and dramatic and I wasn’t looking for it to be anything else so I was engaged from the very beginning. It’s toxic and messy as hell, but it was such a quick read and I was engaged from the beginning. The dual timeline worked and helped build the history between the characters and the antagonism in the present day.
Twisted Lies by Ana Huang
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3.5 Stars)
Release Date: June 23, 2019
While I’ll always love a ride or die hero, and I did like the subtle buildup over the previous books seeing Christian and Stella’s small interactions, I didn’t quite feel the explosive chemistry I expected. I think I was just expecting more development and tension in general. But still had a fun time with this and easily knocked in out in a day. A perfect quick read
