More mini reviews from books I’ve enjoyed to varying degrees over the last few weeks.

Bad Girl Reputation by Elle Kennedy

Rating: ★★★☆☆
Release Date: October 4, 2022

I loved all the tension and history between Gen and Evan. Both of them are at a self-imposed crossroad in their life to try and become better people, not only for themselves but those around them. Seeing them recognize their faults and want to work on them to live a more fulfilling life was great. And I loved the angst from their longstanding on-and-off relationship. It made me immediately buy into their chemistry and struggles staying away from each other. I would have loved more famy moments on both sides, but most of the side characters felt realized and helped fill out the world.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The Air He Breathes by Brittainy C. Sherry

Rating: ★★★★☆
Release Date: September 25, 2015

I was looking for an emotional romance and Brittainy C. Cherry delivered. Tristian and Elizabeth come together after both suffer unbelievable tragedies. This is a story of loss, healing, forgiving yourself, moving on, and finding happiness through the guilt. The ending does get a little wild and it did take me out of the story a little, but the emotional work was all so there, the story still kept my attention, even if I did have to suspend my disbelief for romance reasons.

Legends & Latte by Travis Baldree

Rating: ★★★★☆
Release Date: February 22, 2022

What a charming and wholesome story! I got the most comforting and cozy vibes from Viv’s story. his is a low plot story, but it’s big on characters and heart. You will fall in love with the quiet moments and the small character interactions that build relationships throughout the story.

Staying in Vegas by Sam Mariano

Rating: ★★★★☆
Release Date: March 31, 2018

This was an addicting read and that’s exactly what I wanted it to be. And I think it might just end up being one of my favorite mafia romances that I’ve ever read – and that could be in large part to it being mafia-adjacent, thought there are still definitely dark elements here – and I’m sure we see more in the original series, but I don’t really care to much about that one. I’m not going to lie, the triangle pulled me in from the beginning Laurel had chemistry with both Rafe and Sin, and I could see the attraction for both pairings. It pulled me in and I had a good time.
