I decided to once again have a yearly TBR for 2023, after having it be successful to varying degrees over the past few years (see: 2020, 2021, & 2022 TBRs). But I think I figured out a process that will work for me actually picking up – and enjoying – these books. So here are 17 books I want to read in 2023.

2023 Most Anticipated Releases | January – April
I’m changing up my anticipated releases slightly, instead of posting monthly, I’m going to share the books I’m most excited about for the next four months. So expect this post 3 times a year. And that gives me time to really look at what books are coming out later in the year, instead of front-loading these posts and forgetting everything after August.

2021 Mid Year Book Freak-Out Tag
I love this tag because it’s fun to look back on what you’ve read so far in the year – and I can’t believe I’ve already completely forgotten about some of the books I’ve read. I’m going to try and not repeat books so many canhave the time to shine. And this is a great way to look back on some books I loved and hopefully get out of this slump I’ve been in since some work craziness has overtaken my time.
You can check out the previous times I did this tag in 2017, 2018, and 2020. Continue reading
2021 TBR
I’m noramlly not a big TBR person, because I’m usually a mood reader and the self-imposed pressure of reading a certain book in a timeframe that I might not actually want to read stresses me out. Which I why last year I started (and really enjoyed) doing a yearlong TBR of some books that have been on my shelves for way too long.
Recommendations | Red Book Covers Part II
Last year I talked about how I wanted to be more consistent with my recommendation posts and started this series recommending books based on the colors in the covers (so we can get a fun genre mix) but I failed spectacularly . Now over a year and a half later, I’m finally doing a part II, with more to come in the future – in a more timely manner. Continue reading

First Lines Fridays #84
First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
- Finally… reveal the book!
