First Lines Fridays #76

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  • Finally… reveal the book!

So these are 5 books that that I’m hoping I can get to this month. Continue reading

T10T | Best of the Last 10 Years

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature formerly hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and is currently hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl

This weeks Top 10 Tuesday is a really fun one. We’re picking our favorite books released in the last 10 years, one per year. And it’s so hard! Some years have more choices than others (2012 and 2016 for me) but it’s so cool looking back at when books were released vs when I ended up reading them. I ended up just looking at my favorite shelf on goodreads and looking at the publication date column, so I know my list is wildly incomplete because I forget to shelve books constantly, but it’s still fun nonetheless.

So here are 10 of my favorite books released in the last 10 years! Continue reading

Game of Thrones | Book Tag

Another Sunday, another book tag.

In honor of Game of Thrones finale tonight, I thought it was only appropriate I do this awesome tag! This tag originated over @BiblioNyan so make sure you check out their post as well.

I’ve done this tag once before about 2 years ago, but I felt like a revisist was necessary to close out the end of an era! I’m going to try and choose different books/answers so it’s not a total repeat.  Continue reading
