First Lines Fridays #120
First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
- Finally… reveal the book!
Summer Book Recommendations
I was planning on doing this week’s Top 10 Tuesday about books that make me think of summer. But I realized that I hadn’t done a book recommendation posts in WAY too long, so I decided to combine the two and make a summer-inspired recommendation! These books feel like summer to me, and I hope you enjoy them too. Continue reading
Book Tag | The Wanderlust Book Tag
Another Sunday, another book tag
Since we’re all still stuck inside, what better time to virtually (or at least mentally) travel with books! The settings in some books can elevate the whole story and become a character itself. They can be wonderful forms of escapism and reflect all types of places to convey a spectrum of emotions and I just love it! I found this tag over at @NoReadsTooGreat and figures what better time.
Recent Reads Mini Reviews

Still a fun time, but a different kind of productivity. But here are some of the few book I’ve read lately. Continue reading
WWW Wednesday #95
WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam@TakingOnAWorldofWords and was formerly hosted by MizB@ ADailyRhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three question. It’s open to anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answer. It’s a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments of Sam’s blog.
THE THREE W’S ARE:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
As always, click the book’s title to go to the Goodreads page!
Top 10 Tuesday | Book + Recipe Pairings
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish
This week’s topic is a fun one! It’s all about food and books – two of my favorite things. I decided to pick 10 books and pair a recipe that makes me think of the book. Now most of these are desserts, with a few drinks thrown in, but I love baking so I naturally gravitated toward those recipes. Hope you enjoy them!
